Exhaust Manifold

I was told that you only get very minimum or no gain from a ported stock manifold.

from what i read on here, its better than most of the aftermarket ones like megan racing and the likes., but still very minimal gains unless you get ported or SS O2 housing as well., i got the maxford tubular but i dont remember if it felt any better than stock....

ppi is in michigan. i have been in contact with wayne from there and he seems like a straight up shooter, its 60 something bux to have them do the stocker. i got a nice deal otherwise on a ported and coated manifold that i went with. im gonna get a ported o2housing from ppi tho. top notch work from what everyone says......

Any noticeable power gain after the ported manifold?

you could try the extreme port option which is what a buddy of mine did. this is also through PPI. unfortunately, he added a host of other mods before his tune so it's impossible to tell what gains he received from that alone.

so if supposedly a ported stock mani has a different feel and more tq then what about a tubular ported mani.... i wanted to have that tubular look but i want performance over looks. but if i can do both then why not uh!!......

I was thinkin of porting the stocker or buying tubular but i stopped looking and moved on to something else. this thread got me back in question about it though.

I think adding a ported stocker and nothing else will net you minimal gains....

but ported stocker + ported hotside + O2 Housing will yeild better gains all working together.......Im doing all 3 at the same time, but porting my hotside myself when I pull it apart.

You can and will see gains if it is ported correctly and with the right combination of airflow inducing parts.
That is the only way.

I noticed that on ebay the other day if you're looking for a quick ported solution.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE:IT&ih=013

A ported manifold isn't going to give you a huge increase on the butt dyno, you actually benefit from the loss of restriction in the higher RPM range.
