To get the best performance from an Evo you need to run some sort of racing fuel or fuel additive.

I have tried VP Racing Fuel type C16 which works OK, but I have had better results at less cost by just adding about 15% of Toluene. Anyone else tried anything that works well.

I run a GEMS fully programmable ECU and after I add Toluene I can advance the ignition overall by about 5 degrees and then there is a huge improvement in performance.

1/4 mile time on my Evo VII with a 3" exhaust a GEMS ECU and Toluene = 11.5 seconds.

 

11.5??? SWEET! What other mods do you have on your Evo???

 

This just shows you have crap pump fuels are for performance cars and what they can achieve with decent fuel and a good management system.
