I'm about to do the o2 housing on my IX and was thinking about getting the buschur port and polish also. But buschur makes you send in your core first before they send out theirs, turn around is gonna be about a week. So is the gains worth all the down time?

If Buschur makes it, it IS WORTH the down time to put the part on your car, you can't go wrong with them. I say Yes, do it.

Buschur has the core exchange program normally, you pay up front for the price of the core then you get your money back when you send your stocker back in. Call them up and ask if they have them ready for core exchange, they're very easy to deal with.

Well put it this way, you are already taking the manifold off. I would while the car is apart.

That'd be the best solution for someone who doesn't want the down time.

My BR manifold looks amazing and still looks amazing after 8k miles on it. I don't think you'll notice any real gains from the porting though. It is already a very good flowing manifold. But every little thing helps.

So the P and P more of a cosmetic thing?

Port and polish is an INTERNAL operation. There's no cosmetic thing, unless you're inside the manifold.

It is a performance improvement for a reasonable cost.

Just buy an extra manifold, I got one for $60. Took more than a week to get it back from buschur, but definitly worth it!

+1. I picked up an exhaust manifold for $48/shipped. No downtime. I just have to get some energy and ship it off to Buscher or PPI for P/P. FYI........should get hotside ported as well to feel any gains from what I was told.

PPI does an exchange program so you have no downtime. I think Buschur does too.

Also, like others mentioned, you can buy a used one for pretty cheap off the classifieds, and use that as a core, then sell your stocker when you take it off. I did this as well.

We do offer the option of the customer paying a core fee and sending the manifold out to you so you do not have any down time. This is a process that is pretty much backed up all the time. Mainly because people do not bother to return their cores so we have to locate cores or buy them from the dealer.

The core fee is $350 which is what a BRAND NEW FACTORY manifold costs US. Thats not retail.

The best thing to do if this is something you are wanting to have done is to call and place the order for the manifold. When we get one instock to fill your order we will call you to let you know you are going to be charged and it will be shipping. There is a 30day return period on the FULL refund of the core. If it is returned to us after 30 days 50% will be deducted from the price of the core.

We currently have a shipment out being coated right now and should have some extra's out of this batch.

Since our name has been brought up in the thread I will comment.

Yes, we do have exhaust manifold cores, intake manifold cores and a couple hotside cores as well. We try to always have a core available to start with to give the customer what they want.

If you need any specific answers pm me or give us a call.
