I noticed a whine from my turbo after I installed an aftermarket SS O2 housing. I didn't hear it that loud before, but now it's pretty loud. It almost sounds like a supercharger whine. Both my roommates have 9 turbos and their turbos don't whine. I haven't been able to decipher if this is a 9.8 hotside turbo characteristic or not. There is no shaft play though, and it holds 22psi with my hallman no problem. Anyone have a clue?

 

does it do it while your driving? or just all the time

if its while driving i would lean towards your transfer case has the deatb whine

 

no, I know for sure it's the turbo

 

most likely its a exhaust leak or your lower intercooler pipe is leaking at the turbo/licp connection
