HKS mivec cams installed tuned

Since no one like to post dyno sheet anymore for some reason im sure plenty of people got HKS mivec cams and installed and dyno tuned but no one shows graphs unless i missed all them anyways

friend of mine

EVO IX

Mods

ARC intake
HKS mivec cams
Nisie licp
RSR downpipe (catless)
Greddy TIC
fuel pump
Hallman mbc 23-24 psi @93

im not to impressed but i think he would do better with a stock intake box and just a drop in filter
i think these cams can do better but its also has to do with the right mods for the cams better combo
pretty much maybe a different intake HKS intake

I could be totally wrong here..But,isnt that about what most evo 9's put down on a stage one without cams??Not bashing at all..Im new to the evo's..But, down here in north florida,i have seem similar results with exhaust, intake, mbc, pump, and a flash..I was also wondering about the dyno chart thing as well..Not too many folks posting charts up anymore..Justin

high smoothing factor... if he dropped it down to 0-1-2-3 like captain Dynoflash does the results would be higher and about 10-15whp more than average... honest gain. a different intake would pick up 5whp and a little more boost would be another 10whp....

I'd say those cams are good for about 15-20whp with the proper mods...

Imagine running 30-32 psi on a meth car with these cams... gains would probably be around 30whp =-)!!!!!

it would be nice to show your graph with the cossies against these cams...

if someones reads the specs can understand that this is a very mild cam and personally it not worth it spending the money for the cams and install on something that if your upgrade the turbo will be inadequate...

Not trying to hate but I made almost the same power and more tq with the stock intake, stock icp, on a Mustang dyno and 102 degree temps in the dyno bay... Im glad i went with the Cosworths, in not that impressed with the HKS cams..Theres another member here with my same set up also with Cosi cams and wih the addition of the Bushur fmic and intake and he made 374whp on pump gas yesterday on a dyno day

Let's pause for a moment and look at the graphs and accompaning mods on each car. AMS Intercooler on the Cossie car and stock on the HKS car but the real point to notice is the spool up difference between the Cossies and HKS. HKS look to spool 400ish RPM sooner than the Cossies. Much livelier in around town daily driving scenarios. They also produced more torque and I'm guessing here but likely will idle better.

Take a look at 3000 RPM point and you can see there is almost a 50 ft/lb difference in the HKS cammed car.

I think the car with the HKS should get a new intercooler and then we can see what the real differences are between the two cams. However, the cossies do produce a smoother band over the HKS cams as well as holds the power more uptop until redline. These comparisons look more like the difference between the stock intercooler and the AMS intercooler to me.
