I wanna go Slimfan

I'm still on the stock turbo however the reason i want to go to a slimfan is because my factory fan's shield is rusting and i want to go ahead and change it up and go with a slimfan.

my question does anyone make a "kit"? like connector and all and if not, do you just splice it?

And do they just bolt up at the factory locations or will i need to make my own bracket?

Thanks and any opinion on which to get? and from where? thanks

He he...

Funny, I noticed this yesterday when I popped my hood. I was thinking the exact same thing..

I hope someone comes up with an answer, because as of now, I was going to rip out the fan assembly, then remove everything but the metal shroud, and send it out and have it powdercoated...

Some places do sell a slim fans with the install ease accessories such as your brackets and connector harness.. such as http://www.compperformancegroupstore...ct_Code=827350

They don't just bolt up though. Going to need a bracket or have seen these (they are like $7 i guess but not sure where) have heard good and bad of these though. Some say no problems or rattle and works great... others have said the gasket to hold them away from the actually fan have shrunk and causes rattle and the blades to hit it. They work like zip ties basically..

I've heard only good of the SPAL slim fans. But it requires you to splice the wires and create a bracket.

Make sure to get correct push/pull as to your location though.. wouldn't want to mess that up ...

As for opinion on push/pull.. i guess depending on the space you have though.. would be if possible pulling air through makes for a more efficient airflow over the radiator, lower noise fan setup, and it will remove the hot air OUT of your system.

hope this kind of helps..
