2.75" vs 3" downpipe?
2.75" vs 3" downpipe?
I just got a 3" exhaust installed with a high flow cat so i was wondering what would be the difference in a 2.75" and a 3" downpipe? are the gains noticable? or is it really minor? since i know the 2.75" would be easier to fit on the evo 9s thanks for your help
I've gone from a 2.75" to a 3" and can tell you that you will not notice a difference. Whether one makes more power than the other, maybe but it would not be noithing significant. Stick with the 2.75" if you already have one, if not, either one is fine.

WORKS engineering can extract slightly more torque from the smaller aperture, but they still recommend going with the full 3" DP if you'll eventually go big turbo.
well my friend had a tanabe downpipe (2.75) mated to a test pipe and rsr gt2 exhaust
and i had the agency power downpipe (3 inches) with the same test pipe and exhaust
No difference that i could tell sound wise and power wise

I have a Tanabe downpipe on currently with a TurboXS downpipe sitting in the garage. I will find out shortly if I make more power or not. I just hope it fits as good as the Tanabe.

Maybe not for street, but I have driven on track with a 2.75" downpipe and a 3" downpipe and I have noticed a difference in high end power delivery, and that is probably where the 3" delivers benefits over the 2.75"
alright then i guess it is decided. i already have the 2.75" dp and didn't actually know before i got it. i always thought it is a 3 " when robert at Road Race Engineering told me to get it so i didn't check. From all the responce from you guys i believe that there won't be a big difference so i guess i'll stick with this one for now and something else later. Thanks for all your feedback
