Trans or something else?

I had an oil axle seal replaced yesterday and on my way home the car started to
make a horrible noise every time I shift. It's like a grinding or a whine. It only happens when shifting into gears and goes away when I hit the gas. It also chatters at idle in neutral. Does anyone have a clue?

Wow! That really sucks! What happened, u went lean or something? Hmmm, I see u are running a K&N typhoon and I hope that wasn't the cause of your problems.

Ummm, where does the noise come from, can you tell? By the head, wheels, timing belt, etc?

all the rockers blew off except one... the lifters are stiff as hell and looking at the cam gears i noticed belt dust laying on the inside of them. i have been running the K&N for 2 yrs without a problem. i have only 20k on the car and its never been to a track.
i thought the noise was coming from the trans not the motor. i feel like I'm gonna be sick

yeah,

we are a bit perplexed also... but we are looking into it today.... cams were installed a few weeks ago, I made sure the timing was correct myself.... we do cams every other day at the shop..

this time we used a greddy timing belt which we've never used, only the PE upgraded belt.... we always bleed the lifters also.... so those shouldnt have failed... interesting part is, it appears to only be on the intake cam side of the motor!

It's interesting how the rockers were basically "spit" out while the cam caps were all tight/torqued.... we are a bit confused about it also...

once we have a diagnosis we will let everyone know.

dont worry joe- we are on top of it!

Now thats service you don't see in this industry very often, even from the big name shops. I expected nothing less from you though Chad.

Keep up the good work

I can't say enough good things about Chad and CBRD!!! Chad is a stand up guy! If you drive a Evo or STI and live in PA, MD, VA, NJ, and NY you would be crazy not to have Chad and CBRD work on your car!!! We are very lucky to have Chad around
