Starter Issues

At the beginning of this year is when this problem started. Sometimes when i try to start the car instead of it cranking as soon as I turn the key to the start position it would have a 1sec delay. As the year went on it became worse, sometimes it wouldnt start at all. So I would wiggle the main power wire going to the starter and the car would start.

I had the a custom 35r turbo kit on the car, the manifold burned thru the starter cable. I did put some tape on it to cover the exposed wires.

Sometimes I hear a click and the lights inside the car go dim but NO starter action at all. Sometimes there is no click. Now the car wont start @ all. I have changed the starter out but that didnt help. 2 questions...

1. Do relays ever go out or burn up?
2. Should I just replace that entire starter cable?

Somebody let me know if they have had any problems with starters going out or starting issues @ all. Thanks!

If you burned thru the starter cable....why not start rt there and replace the cable...I assume you ment the positive power cable to the starter from the battery.
