My cam compare data
i ran through several sets of cams on my evo 8.
here are some of my findings. the whp is calculated via aem, based on car acceleration.
all runs were conducted on ca.'s 91 oct from union 76 @ the cam timings below.
The cam timing set-ups are what worked best for my car.
various timings were tried: -4/-1 - +2/0 & all sorts in between for each set of cams.
i am using hks cam gears.
280's @ -3/0 @ 15c & 20c ambient
272's @ -2/-1 @ 20c amb.
s1's @ -2/-1 @ 17c amb.
overall, the hks 280 cams make power, they drive well in the city, but not as responsive as the other sets tried.
gsc s1 cams offer the best drivability of the 3 sets & give you great all-around power. Boost doesnt hit as hard as the hks cams, but they make power.
hks 272 cams drive the hell out of my tme turbo, hence the strong boost ramp-up, but the 272's did not drive as nice as the s1's.
the car was run with similar fuel loads.
the rpm graph illustrates where 1 cam set accelerated the car quicker or slower than the 15c 280 cammed rpm trace.
i find it interesting how the dyno compare i have yielded similar power differences to the calculted whp numbers from aem.
These are my finidings, i am certain everbody else's results will be different in some fashion or another.

Nice comparisons, I should have tried the HKS, but didn't have the money to fork out. Ever since I had BC 272 camshafts (300 shipped) I only gained 14hp at the wheels with random knocks. On the dyno I would get no knocks, then some knock where it would pull timing. Other than that my car was getting hot after the final runs too. But my boost came on quicker from my turbo.

i would put more weight / emphasis in the rpm graph showing acceleration.
This is real-world car acceleration, while the whp calculated numbers are just that....calculated.
the rpms were aligned @ 3k, pulls were started @ ~2k.
All performed in 3rd gear.
