first time to drag strip tomorrow
what upp fellow evom'ers
tomorrow me and a few friends are going to the subaru shootout at byron, IL. My car is pretty stock 3"dp, intake, stage 2 clutch, test pipe. I was wondering what an ideal boost to set my car for. I was thinking 20 on 93 pump, I also have 5 gallons of 100 ready to put in after some 93 runs and was thinking 23 psi for that. i have a stock ecu and i wish i had a flash of some sort, but im in the process of purchasing a cable probably a tactrix so we shall see. What you guys think let me know

i had same mod's as you and i ran it on 23 the whole night, no tune just exhaust, and mbc 23psi , first pass sucked cause i had never ran the car at the track ran 13.4@102, next pass was 13.01 @106, and final was 12.9@107. and it had alot to do with the launching more then the settings and shifting.
keep on practicing and you'll get better. with a 107 trap speed you should be good for mid 12's, you prolly have more there still you just need seat time. how were your 60's?
I would think you will be in the mid 12's. I just came from the old Norwalk last night and ran mine for the first time. She is still bone stock and ran a 13.7. 60 foot times could use improving but that will come with pratice. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

no launch, just ease out and punch it I went 13.6, I went 13.4 slipping it off a 4k SB boy did it bog. Then 13.1 by pushing the boost up, fixing a leak, and setting my redline up to 7550. Same slip from 4k. Then I set it to 5k SB. And tried to barely slip it. 12.7, Then I side stepped the f***er from 5k and hoped for the best. 12.61 @110. First time tracking the evo for me.
Best 60ft was the 12.6 1.88 (stock clutch)
I was running 1.7bar on 93 octane.
Just under 25psi.
With the tactrix you could log your runs and tweak your timing a little in ecuflash to deal with knock from increased boost. That cable would really help you lay it all out on the line without putting yourself in danger. 100oct should safely mask any detonation issues you would encounter. But boy, would benefit from pushing the timing up & more boost on 100oct.
you dont need 100 octane to run 23psi... in fact on a good tune i've seen up to 25psi on 93oct. I personally run 24psi max hovering around 23 then 22 at redline.
That is unless you need the high octane to alleviate detonation issues from too aggressive of a tune at lower boost, but in your case you aren't tuned yet. On the flip side... i wouldnt really recommend boosting past 21psi w/out a tune anyways... so yeah keep the 100oct handy.
also, i dont think your fuel/ign maps are scaled to run that boost level? Im just learning about ECUflash myself... but i know i didnt get 300 load cell definitions until i got flashed.
