I'd think twice before getting something with tubular headers. Maybe you should look at a kit using Buschur's cast mani, but all his standard kits run an external dump (big problem in Cali). You can also run the Buschur mani with an internally gated turbo. Maybe he could hook you up with an internally gated 35R. Except for size, you'll at least appear stock.

Another option and one I would seriously consider is the FP/ Buschur Green. It is a completely stock appearing turbo and will not cause you any problems with the CARB inspection centers. It won't hit 500 whp, but it will perform and gives you a stock appearance.

Bro cops have told us in California our stock exhausts were illegal and modified, the stock IC pipes were modified, anything you can dream up was modified. Some are asses some are not its just that simple.

The best rule of thumb is just don't do anything stupid and you wont have to deal with any of them modified or not.

The Green will get you there and save you money and headache by looking completely stock.

how does one blow the stock turbo? this is one of the first few posts I've seen regarding this. . .I wonder how much "life" our 16g's have at higher than stock levels. . .any ideas??

to the OP, how much boost were you running when it blew? how many miles on the turbo?

At sctuned.com you can get a Peak Boost Top Mount turbo kit for 8k. Yah its a lot but if you go there and take a look at what they give you, i doubt youll have to buy anything else if you go with that kit. It comes with everything and i say everything i mean it. Plus the site is giving precision 680cc injectors and the kit gives you 1000cc injectors. heres a link check it out::http://www.sctuned.com/index.php?p=p...d=22&parent=46

buschur has seen 10.8@128mph with a green on street tires. if you're looking for 11's you don't need a 35R...not even close. i would just get a green and every supporting mod. if you REALLY want a turbo kit, you don't need anything more than a 50-trim + supporting mods for your goals.

Why not just go 35R so you dont have any issues in the future when you want to turn up the boost even more see what you can really put down ?

Super sleeper look short runner manifold for your pleasure. You can get your heat shield double coated and keep temperatures cooler. Here is a link with the GT35R and you cant even tell is there:
