Exedy twin HD Installed

I just had my Exedy Twin HD installed by USP Motorsports, and all I can say
is this clutch is great! I was slightly nervous about driving it for the
first time since I have read that it can be hard to drive. I didn't stall
it one time during the ride home and was absolutly suprised! The engagement
is a much smaller window and comes on faster then the stocker but it drives
very similar to stock. Pedal pressure is increased a fair amount, and I
only have slight noise from it during Decel and at idle with the clutch in.
To be honest my car is so loud anyway I can hardly hear it unless I listen
for it. Starting from a stop is the only tricky part the rest is much
smoother then stock and rev matching is much easier. The guys at USP are
top notch and did a great job they had the car done very fast, and at a
very fair price. If you are looking to get work done here in south FL I
highly recommend them not to mention they have an AWD dyno in house.

The clip problem isn't with this clutch in particular, its a problem with all pull-style Evo clutches, even the stock ones if they could actually hold up to being shifted that hard.

Make sure your fluid restrictor at the slave cylinder is still in there. Taking that out is one cause of the clip popping problem. Very aggresive fast shifting can also cause it (trust me I know, Ive probably popped more off than anyone). If you don't shift crazy fast, you probably wont have an issue with it.

I've had the Exedy Twin Disk HD for over 5 months now and have had no problems with the throw out bearing what so ever. I also know of several other Evo's with the same clutch, all are working flawlessly.

I tend to think this might be an install problem if it happens to some and not others?

35 mile update. The clutch disengaged idle sound is now there! Sounds like marbles in a coffee grinder. LOL The decel noise is faint but now there! :P Still love it! It is tricky pulling it into my garage. I just kinda aim and launch it on in there. Considering it is a small 2 car garage with 2 cars and 2 bikes in it. There is only a matter of inches all around for error.

Why all this talk about TOB's poping out? Now I am worried it will happen to me. What causes it? Also when does it usually happen after break in?

buschur just installed this clutch in my evo9.. so far the clutch is awesome. i do have the clutch chatter when clutch is in. how is your throttle response? ex. if you are stopped and lightly blip the throttle. my rpms will come up to 2k and hold for a second then drop down. overall the clutch is a great upgrade.

I have noticed that when you rev the car up past 2,000 rpm in neutral the rpm falls much faster from say 2,000 down to 0 then it does from 4,000 down to 2,000. Rev matching is soo smooth and the blips happen much faster. It isn't hard at all to get a seamless rev match.

I have the same clutch with no probelms at with it, i have about 6k on it so far. The only thing that you may have to do and definatey keep a close eye on it is adjust your clutch pedal as the clutch breaks in so that it properly disengages.

Besides that good luck with it it is a nasty clutch and I love it, BTW how is it at holding the power of the GT35R?

P0300 Yay!!!! I haven't gotten on it but it seems fine then again so did the stock clutch... The lag of the 35R seems to play nice with the clutch.

As a side note... For the past year the car has been in this current state of modifications and has not thrown the P0300 code driving it daily. As soon as the Exedy Twin went in Bam P0300 within 40miles of use. I think this can put to rest that the P0300 is thrown by a twin disk clutch.
