Thanks everyone...lots of good responses.

For the ETS fan boys, the 3" I/C is $449 and the 3.5" is $569 - a 27% difference. Is the 3.5" going to do a 27% better job of reducing intake temps on a street-only EVO? I presume not, and I will guess the 3" is the better value. Please set me straight if I'm wrong.

Thanks again everyone...

If your plans are to go over 500whp then get the 3.5" If not then the 3" will be great for you

I don't really even need to reply but I will just to clarify some details

You'll only see an improvement in going with the 3.5" unit if you are in the 500whp neighborhood, as the core needs to be thicker at that point to cool the charge. We've pushed a 2.8" thick prototype unit to 599whp previously so it's capable of more, but the 3.5" would have done a better job in that case. Both the 3" and 3.5" bolt perfectly in place of the stock intercooler and neither require any modification of any piece on your EVO to fit. You're welcome to call or PM me directly with any other questions you may have!

Tom

I went with the 3.5" from ETS for the reasons Tom mentioned. It may be a while before I get to 500 HP, but I'd rather spend another $150 now or so than do it all over again in a year or two.

But if your gonna be content with stock turbo and a few minor mods then 3" would be perfect I would think.
