Water/alky injection would be your best bet, or the other alternative is to try and find a good supplier of toluene and mix a lot of it in with your 91 octane. It's 116 octane, so depending on how much you mix in with your 91 depends on what your octane level will be.

Has any one actually tried doing this, or does everyone simply know that it won't work? We spend big bucks on larger intercoolers in an attempt to reduce intake air temps, and then we blow the intake air through a heated T/B. It seems counter productive to me.

Here in AZ I don't think a heated T/B is ever needed, but I realize that in some parts of the country it will. So, what about having a simple valve in the coolant line to the T/B so that the reheating of the intake charge can easily be turned off or on?

My coolant lines are disconnected. Then again, I'm looking for every last bit of hp and I don't need to heat my TB here in California.

After you disconnected the coolant line to TB, does it give you any problem in the long run? I will do the same too if there is no issue, I live in hot climate year round

I imagine the side effect of not running coolant through the TB is that cold starts would be rough, but once it's warmed up it should be a non issue.

What cold starts? It's Los Angeles

BTW, I haven't really noticed any rough cold start issues.

but I'm talking about engine temps, not ambient temps... but that's good to hear that you haven't had any problems after the mod.

File down any edges on your spark plugs that may cause a hot spot, obviously not the electrode.

Also, if you are not into Water Wetter, put two or three drops of dish soap in your radiator. The dish soap will break the surface tension of the water.

For a wideband, use a LC1. All it is is a WB, simple and works with evoscan

Zeitronix is great, but he wants a simple WB that does nothing cept read AFR, so he can log it in evoscan. Zeitronix logs many things, and has feature he doesnt need/want.

LC1 is a simple, just read AFR WB
