injector size for e85? and how to do a double pump setup?
so what size is needed to run e85 in a bolted on evo? and would you also need to double pump it? also, how do you go about setting up a double pump? who sells a kit? i seen the full blown kit but is there others?
theres a lot of E85 info in the Alternative Fuel sub-forum. If you are on stock turbo 1000cc + Walbro 255 is all you need, double pumper for the green. not sure what the reqs would be for a bigger turbo.
Buschur also sells a drop in kit using the stock plastic piece. His included the price of the walbro's though I'm pretty sure the full blown one does not. The other thing about the fullblown pump setup is I didn't see a pressure switch which would probably mean you would overrun the stock fuel pressure regulator unless it was upgraded.

back up, i am still wanting to do this. so i have to get 1200cc injectors and just stay on my singel walbro? (for the stock turbo) and thats it? do you just drain all of the gas some how or just run it out?
You can run 1000cc injectors and a single walbro on the stocker and be fine. You could probably even get away with 850cc injectors to run E85 on the stocker. I'm running a 58trim turbo at 27psi on 1000cc injectors using E70 and my IDCs were in the low 70 percent range with a single walbro. There's still room to run more boost with my setup. Yes you will need to drain the gas tank. There are bolts on the bottom of the gas tank that you will need to remove to drain the gas tank. The gas tank is a saddle style in design and will have to have both sides drained.

You'll make a lot more power on corn gas compared to pump. The biggest problem with running ethanol gas is that it fluctuates in concentration thoughout the year. Right now its winter so most gas stations have E70 instead of E85. E70 is usually good for 26-28 psi depending on the turbo. E85 can make more power because it has a higher ethanol content. E70 has a higher gas concentration for the winter to help with start up during the winter. It also richens up the AFRs. So if you are tuned on E70 like I am, then when the gas stations switch to E85, the the AFRs will lean out when you pump in E85. This will require some tuning on your part to richen up the maps if need be, and probably also add some boost to make more power with e85. So the only downside I see to running E85 is that you have to constantly be tweaking to some degree. Make sure you have a wideband.
although i've never tried it, i bet you can run 1600cc injectors when using E85 on the stock ecu. since you are scaling them down 33% from what you would on gas, that would put you around 1000cc as the scaled flow rate which i know you can do on stock ecu.
