Installed Hallman Pro RX MBC
hey fellas, just got my hallman pro MBC installed the other day,
with the boost source/wastegate actuator method.
how many times do you have to turn the knob (complete circles) before the boost raises above the stock wastegate pressure? i had it turned all the way down to test it out and i was boosting to about 10-11psi. turned it like maybe 3 half circles and i had no changes to boost.
it was like half circle test drive then another half circle etc... no change.
i read a few forums which suggested you may have to turn several times to get it to start boosting higher? is this true

does the boost knob eventually come off if you keeping turning it clockwise to increase boost?
or does it come to a halt like it does when you wind it all the way down (lowest boost setting)
just abit worried cus i got my boost up but it took a few turns. probably 4-5 complete turns already to get it to 1bar. i want to get it back to standard 1.2bar but scared if i keep turning it the knob will come off and stuff will come flying out.
anyone know roughly how many full turns (full circles) before it maxes out ?

When you turn it clockwise it should get tighter. So no, it will be not come off. What spring do you have in there? If it is the light spring, at the tightest setting (highest you can turn the boost) you'll only be at 14-15psi. about 1bar. You're going to want the heavy spring.
I have the heavy spring in mine, and at the lowest setting i'm at 1bar, so I turn it around a few good times, and i'm at 1.3-1.4 in 4th gear

i've got the heavy spring. im using the Pro one, i believe it comes with the heavy spring as i was told and it only came with one spring so its definitely not the RX version.
at the lowest setting your sitting on 1bar? wow thats high, the lowest setting i was on 10-11psi. which is liek the standard wastegate pressure. do you have stock turbo?

Sounds to me like yours came with the light spring. Heavy spring yours and turn it all the way down, then turn it up to your desired boost level.
hi mate, i bought the hallman pro so its already got the hardspring,
its impossible to start boosting on 1bar on the lowest setting unless you've upgraded to a 1bar actuator.
stock wastegate actuator pressure are at around 10-11psi. so that ultimately is your lowest setting.

Nope, With the heavy spring, my lowest setting the heavy spring will do is 1bar. With the light spring on the other hand, turn that down and you will be running wastegate pressure
The Hallman Pro only comes with the stainless ball and light spring.
Hallman Pro RX comes with light spring and heavy spring, and ceramic ball. Get the heavy spring that comes with the RX kit and you'll be good to go.

mate i dunno, my guy i bought it off assures me its the heavy spring and hallman's only sell the pro packages with the heavy spring.
he said so himself to me via email.
anyone with experience with the hallman pro MBC chime in and give some input?
lowest setting with hardspring 1 bar or wastegate pressure 10-11psi ?
i too would like to know if i got cheated.

I have a Hallman Pro RX and I have the light spring and heavy spring. I put in the light spring first, at it's lowest setting I was sitting at 10-11psi. I then turned it up a little each time, finally got to 1.0 bar or 14-15 psi. Switched out the light, for the heavy. I turned it all the way down, was sitting at 1.0bar or 14-15 psi. Turned it up until I got to my desired level of 1.3-1.4 bar or 19-20 psi
so im curious to know, the max for a light spring is like upto 5psi from wastegate pressures right? so about 1.1bar MAX right?
im sitting on about 1.1bar atm give or take and i've got quite a few turns left. i played around with it with the engine off and did 3 full revolutions just to see if i had much to go. so i know i have atleast 3 full turns. so im pretty sure i can tweak it past 15 psi easily.
i've read other posts where some guy had a light spring and he could only go as high as 16.5, switch over to the hardspring and turning half as much turns as he did with the lightspring he achieved 16.5. so im sorta in the same situation just without the light spring.
