I have both intake and exhaust HKS 272 cams on a IX...

Bang for the buck I say just the 272 Ex Cam + a 20G from Turbochargers dot com, or the Green if you can justify the $600 extra...

Otherwise just HKS 272 cams on a IX not worth much more than 10-15hP WITH GOOD MIDRANGE TORQUE!!!

.

I don't want to rip on the cams I simply haven't seen anyone in a cam'd 9 turn better traps than the stock cammed 9s. Maybe gains are mostly had on pump gas.

I'm sure there's something to be had I'm just not sure its worth the cost and trouble.

i like lope it sounds tough, but mine is not loping, i know a guy with cosworth cams and his lopes like crazy. oh well the power gains are good. car pulls much harder than before. driving my friends evo with basically the same mods as mine minus the cams feels much slower through out the power band.

I think it would be better to upgrade the turbo before upgrading cams.

i have the gsc s1 cams and when first installed they sounded just like stock. then after changing the values at idle in the mivec map it sounds more like an 8 with cams now

i use to have the hks 272's for my ix, but recently switched to JUNs. If you want lope the JUNs give you all the lope you want. As for a back to back comparison test....my father and buschur racing did this exact comparison between the two cams. I will look for the link.

I'm the other of the 2 people in the US with JUN Mivecs. I have no lope except for a few seconds on cold start and once in a while when the idle drops down to 500 for a second (mine has always done this since I bought it new).
