So you won't drive at the track in the rain then right?

The last auto-x I went to was in the middle of a thunderstorm with rain pouring down. They didn't cancel it or even postpone any of the runs.

I've used the spray on some mountain runs, and to me it definitely felt different - engine was more responsive. Note, before I felt the difference i was sceptical about it's effectiveness too.

There is a HUGE difference is driving rain and knowing it is raining vs being surprised at 120mph that something is on the track. at the braking point at summit point I was going 125mph on most laps..... to hit some liquid (any liquid) obviously would increase the braking distance into the gravel trap or beyond.

Auto-X is relatively slow and if you ****up, you hit a cone, not a tree, embankment, or other car.....

Damn, 125 on the stright, that is sweet. What did you drive? I was just out there in my corrado (160whp only) and I got up to about 110-115. Braking into 1 is damn scary, a lot scarier than say the Glen.

Speaking of fluid on a dry day... my friend got a coolant leak on one of his laps. Turn 2, I guess he got some water under his tires and around he went. Luckily he managed to stay on the track and was not shot out into the gravel pit (that pit was rough when I was there, easy roll over if you hit it sideways)

Oh yeah, and it does not have to be a puddle's worth of water. When you are braking at 10/10's, just a damp spot will make a difference when you are assuming it is dry...

After many dyno sessions and three days of track driving...I have never remembered to use my IC sprayer even once.

I've been thinking of putting a big post-it note on the steering wheel or something.

I would love to know if this really helps. I do not think it does much if any at all. I am having problems with mine now so I will have it fixed, but is it really worth it?

I doubt mitsu would incoperate it into the vehicle if the engineers did not think it worked.

I mean, come on these guys are smart enough to build the evo, they should also qualify as being smart enough to add a component that improves it.

question about the auto mode on the spray. i know the computer determines when to spray but what condition are we looking at here? is there a temperature sensor that monitor the heat then spray when it gets a certain temp? or is it determine by how high you rev? or what is it?

When the IC gets hot the spray goes off for 3 seconds every 10 seconds. It helps.

How do you check the level of the spray reservoir? it's black and doesn't seem to have an indicator.

Also what do you refill it with? Manual doesn't recommend anything,... water? alcohol?

IC spray definately works. My Evo did a 13.3 with the spray and a 13.6 without the spray.
