Need clutch opinion....

Just got tuned. Needless to say after two days and a trip to the track I am now slipping in pretty much all gears! My IX made it 21,000 miles so it's now clutch time. I have stage 1 mods and am putting down 310 whp. I plan to have up to 400 hp and the car is my DD so I need it to be very streetable (almost stock like). I need help making a decision today. I think I'm against an ACT because of some of the stories I've read. Leaning towards an Exedy. My tuner recommend an HD twin but my budget is $800 max + $800 install. I was thinking about this Exedy kit

Anyone have any helpful opinions. Thanks.

Ill just give you my experience. I just had the act-hd sprung 6 puck and streetlight flywheel. I had it installed by Revline in kcmo, an experienced tuner shop. After the install the clutch pedal felt good, barley stiffer than stock. The clutch was a little ruff in first gear getting going because of the 6 puck. I might have gone with the solid disk, to prevent the ruff starts. other than that i am very happy with the clutch. The clutch grabs no problem on launches. I can barley hear the "chatter" that wasnt any problem. Overall i was happy. I would have to join the great clutch for the money club. Hope that helps

NO do NOT get the acthdss..

i have nothing against act clutches.... but myself and 5 friends have had them and none of them have lasted more than 30k.... mine only lasted 15k and i only was making around 360whp and only had about 6 launches on it and never beat it hard....

just get a twin plate trust me.

My original idea...

What do you guys think about the original clutch I was thinking of? This Exedy with flywheel:
http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

Or this ACT w/ Flywheel recommended by SpeedElement:
http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

...I THINK I AM BETWEEN THESE TWO. OPINIONS PLEASE. I NEED TO ORDER SOON...

there is a clutch thread on here somewhere with various clutchs . most people loved the ACT HDSS. i have had mine almost 12k and its still holding and i have 472whp and 426tq. so those are my results. i cant justify spending over $1300 on a twin plate clutch that will do the same thing and hold the same tq.

Is the HDSS the same one I am looking at? If not how much is it?
