The end all thread of clutch rebuilds!

Ok so yesterday my Tilton started slipping AGAIN! This will be my second rebuild on the clutch. I wanted ppl to post input about their rebuilds on here tilton, exedy, etc. I am trying to figure out what route I want to go from here and this input would definitely help out. Also, if there are any vendors that can offer me solutions feel free to post up or PM me with rebuild kits, clutch deals ,ect. Thanks.

No, not at all. Maybe too easy on it. Used as dd, maybe a dozen launches at 5krpm.

I am looking into a rebuild kit, but It looks like I will end up buying a whole new setup (ACT)...i can't wait for exedy to realize people actually buy their clutches and they wear out!

Tilton has excellent rebuilt/replacement options.

Best thing about the Tilton is that every part for it can be purchased separate.
Most don't know this.

You don' have to re-build it, if just the disks wear out. Just buy a new disk pack.
You can buy the plates by themselfs too, floater and pressure. You can buy the cover, the flywheel, the bolts, release bearing. All separate or together.

To rebuild, you can send the old parts to Tilton, and they will correct them for a reasonable price and ship them back to you, ready for use again.

Good unit, .

From my experience, the guys at Tilton rank among the best in Customer Service.
Their dealers, all are very good in answering questions and helping with issues.
One of the best companies I have ever worked with. Another is Karastan, but they sell Carpet, .

Exedy rebuild

Hey guys whats up. I'm going through a rebuild right now for an exedy twin sd clutch. It's only got 15,000 miles on it and already they are .1 mm away from being out of spec. For a clutch I thought was gonna last me until 60,000 that was a bit pricey. The rebuild is going to cost me about $800. The price is including two discs DM13DA and DM13DB, also the floater IMO1, and the top plate PP02, plus resurfacing the flywheel and crown thing. I'm getting the floater and top plate because they only have a run-out spec. of .55mm. This sucks! BTW You can get all the exedy clutch parts separate.

Those of you have/ used the Exedy rebuild kit, where did you buy yours from? Will this fix a clutch no matter what is making it clutch slip? And what is every possible reason that a clutch is slipping?
