'03 Transfer Case Disassembly Threads??

Is there a writeup somewhere? been unsuccessful in finding the help i need.

I have the xfer case apart w/the ring & pinion + the 4" shaft out. I am unable to get the spidergears loose. Is there something else i need to do to remove the spider gears & drop in the Quaife?

Or is this a telltale sign of a damaged xfer case which either needs rebuilding or replacement??

I'm really just looking to drop in the Quaife & seal the case back up. any help is greatly appreciated. i am finally making progress on this car (see Project 11.49 thread)... :h elpme::hel pme:

You don't need to disassemble the spider gears to replace the Diff .
remove the ring gear from the assembly then split the assembly where the differential is. replace the diff with your aftermarket differential , use assembly lube to keep the plastic thrust washers in place while assembling it . Its pretty straight forward .

If you run into any problems , type here and I'll help you as much as I can .
I've done many of these ..
