need help on cam install

I have searched all day and found a lot of threads expressing the problem that i am facing, but want to ask a question; i cannot break loose the 17mm exhaust cam bolt; i have an impact tool that i am using and that does not work; i have an extra set of hands and we cannot get the bolt free; can i work backwords and remove everything on the exhaust cam, along with the cas, and then remove the exhaust that way; or would that result into any problems?

please let me know; thanks

Get a longer breaker bar and put a pipe on the wrench for more leverage.

+1 on bigger breaker bar with pipe if needed. i had a similar problem when doing a top end build up on my 420A that was in my neon.

I have a nice impact with a beefy compressor that barely ever helps me in situations like this and the breaker bar will eventually get the job done with the right amount of leverage

good luck!!

I had this problem too on a friends car and it was no fun. We had two pretty big guys there and it took alot of leverage and time, but it finally came. Just dont bust a dent in your hood when it goes.
