Buschur TBE off a VIII fit a IX????

I called Buschur and they said it will fit but I would have to put a small *dent* in it. He made it sound like it was nothing at all. But then I called back and talked to somebody else and he made it sound like it was a bid deal and he wouldnt do it! Has anybody else dont this? I did try searching with no luck. This is a 3-4 year old exhaust that I have had sitting in my garage for a couple years. But I cant justify buying a new one when I have a perfect one sitting here. Thanks for any help!

Could you take the exhaust and piping to a muffler shop and have them cut and weld just that part of the exhaust to make it fit correctly?

Its the Downpipe that is the issue.....05-06 that try and run a 03-04 downpipe must do a little pounding to clear the acd. From the dp back will fit with no issues at all, I have a buschur catback off an VIII on my car.

My suggestion is sell the 03-04 dp and then buy the downpipe that will fit the 05-06 acd model and the exhaust will then work.

Sorry for not clarifying, I am not going to sell it and buy another, my store is right next to a muffler shop, so I can get it fixed no prob. I am just wanting to know how big of a dent you have to put in.

Big enough to clear the acd so it doesn't rub/vibrate.... Only way to know is to bolt it up and see where it hits?

Everyone has different opinions. I for one do not suggest it and that is for one simple reason, I am a stickler for doing something right instead of band aiding it. Yes you can man handle your downpipe to fit but, as for me I would just rather have the correct down pipe for the car. Hope everything goes well and good luck.

If you have the full slip in version it will not fit at all. I went through the same thing when I traded my VIII for a IX. I tried to put it on the IX but it is not even close to fitting at all but this is my experience only. Only way to find out for sure is just drop the stock down pipe & try the BR down pipe.

You are looking at a .5" to 1" dent to clear the ACD. I had the same issue when I went from on 03 to an 05 Evo. Just sold the DP and got a new one. I may have a DP for you in a week or so if you are still looking.

No thanks. I appreciate the help. If its something that small or even bigger I can just cut and weld the pipe. Thanks for the help guys!

It went right on. It fit the same as on my VIII. I put a dent in it just incase it did rub the ACD. But it was about the size of a quarter and about 1/4" deep. It did end up rattling against my driveshaft carrier bearing, but it was because the exhaust was one of the first buschur TBE's. It never did fit right. Still have to figure out a way to push it away from the bearing.

just band a alittle where the ACD is going to be... and it will fit like cake bro. Nothing to worry about. You'll feel alot better once you do it & it works!

OT but.. I have a 05+ Buschur DP for sale. Clears everything. I assume you have spacers and hardware as I do not. $150 shipped.

I helped 2 friends install their exhausts, and both didnt fit perfectly. We ended up doing the same thing.. but the dents were a bit deeper. I held out and bought a Buschur, and didnt have any issues.

All 3 Evos were 05's.
