For cam install?

I just bought a set (of cams), and was wondering what people generally paid.

Not a thing. Did it myself. But I would charge $150

 

Shop rates are going to be different from place to place but I would guess around 3 hours shop time.

 

Is that right? About 3 hrs?

NOt sure about the shop rate, but it's definitely something you cna tackle yourself. Not very difficult at all if you cna follow instructions.

 

closer to $500 for a shop to do the install

 

Save your money and do it yourself. Then you know it was done right....or at least who's to blame if it's not

 

i paid 300 for a cam and head stud install

 

Nothing..... Did it myself...... The Mitsu Cam tool makes it so freakin easy!!!

 

i did mine myself but im sure itll take a few hours and about 300-500 bucks probably. what kinda cams did you get?? are you upgrading springs as well?? its not a must but i would definately go ahead and upgrade them anyways. good luck with the install

 

I broke my Mitsu cam tool I feel safer pulling the front of the engine apart anyways. I was really made at myself when I broke it.

Where could I get some HKS cams for my evo and generally how much

 

I got a pair of HKS 264's and a a set of headstuds brand new on ebay for a killer deal. I coulnd't pass it up. I don't plan on upgradeing the valvetrain, it's gonna have to due without it. $375 seems to be the going rate for everything, no interest in doing it myself. Well aware I'll need a tune afterwards.
