bad sound from motor

Alright so I need some help figuring out what this sound is. I'm going to do the best I can to describe it and hopefully get my camera phone video loaded on here. But here it is.
When I start the car in the morning or at any time after sitting for a good period of time, the motor natrually idles high on warm up and when the idle is reduced to normal idling level, a strange noise starts to grow louder and louder from the passanger side of the motor. When you listen close, it sounds almost like a dry bearing or gears of something. The sound is intermittin with when it does it, sometimes it will and sometimes it wont, but its often enough to worry about. It will then do it at random times, at stop lights, parking, etc and sometimes not at all. Its not fast enough to be something nessecarily internal because it doesnt pace the revs, but it does get faster as you give it gas. Only way I can describe it , is imagine the sound a bad washing machine makes. When you get under the car and put your ear to the oil pan you can definitely hear it. Maybe an oil pump? Something else? I'm babying the crap out of it because Im worried its something serious. Any ideas.

I should also mention that yesterday I had my tuner log the car and the results were optimal. No knock all the way through the list and good overall results if that helps at all narrowing it down

do you have an exhaust set up? If so normally the stock hangers tend to stretch to a point where the exhaust will rest partially on the tie-bar, had this problem before and the sound would occur and different driving conditions, my thoughts

Thats funny. Ive had that same problem for a litte while. I'm going to the dealer soon to look at it. If I had to guess, its sounds like its coming from alternator. Its sound like a bearing or something.

BUMP on this!

I have a similar noise which i hear from the belts side and it sounds like a whine. This thing started now with the cold as nothing else changed on the car... I also have the impression that when the car gets hot the noise stops or lessens significantly...

Let me know what your friend will tell you...
