What do you want to do with your car? How you plan to use it should dictate the answer... it's not as simple as just "which one".

This goes for using Whiteline rear diff bushings, too, but probably to a lesser degree. Noise levels are going to rise with either of those parts anyway, but on top of that you've made the rear diff noisier by making it more active, too. Most of the diff noise has quieted down since the diff got broken in, and I'm used to what remains.

Anyone know what Jon's turnaround time is right now on the rear diff mod? I'm trying to get in touch with him to ship mine out next week.

Thanks,

John

Send Jon an e-mail, that seemed to be the best way to get a hold of him.

Anyone know the exact differences between the the three options Jon offers? Just what the pros and cons are with each, not a whole bunch of theory

EDIT - found some info on google under some cusco ad - not sure if its accurate and I am paraphrasing:

The 1.5 gives one full action on acceleration and a lesser action on decceleration.

The 2 way gives one full action on acceleration a deceleration. So its working when decelerating in a corner which is good (but, bad for a novice driver), I would think.

Does this sound accurate?

EDIT - Talked to Jon just now. Got some information on the 3 and he helped me make a decision. I am sending my diff out to him tonight.

Well, I am not technical. So, I told him what I plan on doing with the car, basically HPDE and auto-x use. He asked if I was going to run on snow, ice or gravel a lot - answer was No.

He said for snow, ice, heavy mud etc aka hard core rallying use, the 2 way is best. For gravel and dirt, the 1.5 is adequete.

For HPDE and road use, he suggested the 1 way. Marty Grand, CJ and others run the 1 way as well, per Jon.

So, I am going with the 1 way like he said. I just boxed my stuff up to send to him - yays!

Zeus - this is OT. Which part of the Megans need tightening for that clunking noise?

^ In that case it did freeze over in early January (might explain the freakin' cold temps here, LOL) ... because he turned mine around in 2 days.

razorlab - not sure what you are trying to say, bro. If you could be more specific, I'd appreciate it!
