i'm thinking about adding hks 272 to my mods would i need springs and retainers or will i be ok with just the cams

 

I believe with 272's you need springs and retainers, at least they're recommended. I just got a set of HKS
264's, I went that route because I don't want to upgrade my valvetrain.
I would entertain offers if your interested, they are brand new in the box.

 

You can use stock springs and retainers with HKS 272's, I did for a very long time without any problems.

 

You'll be fine on stock springs and retainers. It's been discussed many times.

 

We took the HKS272's on stock springs and retainers to over 8000 rpms several times. No problems. Actually shifted on several passes at 8250.
