wich cam's to go with
Before you go with cams, you should seriously consider an O2 housing, LICP, hi-flo cat, and a 10.5 hotside conversion. Those items, combined with a downpipe, absolutely transformed my car. I had cams put in (HKS 272s) a few months after those items, and the cams didn't make as big a difference as those other items. You should address some of the other, easier and cheaper restrictions in the system before I'd look at cams. With those other items still restricting your flow, your cams won't be able to make much of a difference. Just my 2 cents.
If you do a search on O2 housings, you'll find there's some debate as to whether they're worth it or not. I went with one and was glad I did, but as stated earlier, it was installed with several other items, so the results weren't isolated just to the O2 housing.
As others have hinted at, searching, researching, and reading on this board will ultimately lead you to better results from the money and parts you invest into your Evo, rather than just randomly posting up and then picking parts that get the most shout outs.
If you want to take an easier route, then you could take a look at the performance packages offered by many vendors and just purchase the package. Just looking at the packages offered will give you a hint as to what parts hold the biggest bang for adding to the performance of your Evo. You can then try putting together your own package, and perhaps save some bucks, while also getting some pride in the fact YOU are the one who put in the time to come up with the combo.
Just remember, it is possible to make your car perform worse with addition of some unwise purchases.
Good luck.
