Test Pipe On Stock car?

IM thinking about getting a ultimate racing testpipe.

With my Stock Exhaust will this 1. Make a Code? 2. How loud will it be? 3. Make Fire or not and 4 will i feel a gain? 5. Will it Work on a 2005 Evo 8 or will i have to mod?

This is just something im looking to toss on over the winter to have some fun.

Thanks!

It will fit, throw a code unless you run two spark plug antifoulers or equivalent, be a tad louder ala quieter aftermarket catback, won't make fire and finally give a small noticeable gain but don't expect to outrun Ferraris.

Why not just buy a cat-back? Keep the stock cat or throw on a test pipe.

Buschur Racing has a cat-back for $450. You can later add their test pipe/HFC and downpipe.

Megan Racing also has a low priced exhaust that many people seem to like

Test pipes usually will make you blow fireballs at rev limiter, or downshifts/decelerating. The only thing you gain from fireballs is scaring old ladies behind you, or getting pulled over Other than that..........

Many places sell o2 spacers. Before when I had my HFC I'd throw p0420 all the time. I got my spacer and never threw it again, even with my test pipe, it still doesn't throw it.

with any car you wanna start upgrading exhaust at the farthest point from the motor. i would suggest getting a cat-back exhaust or turbo-back exhaust. do the catback, then the testpipe or hfc, and then your downpipe. just my 2 cents.

i just dont have $400+ on a exhaust to spend at this moment.. college comes at a price I was thnking of puttin the test pipe on there just to make the car sound a little better then when spring or summer comes around get the DP and catback and so on.

I had like 90 bux to spend after getting gifts for christmas so what can i get? So i thought why not a test pipe and then take out some more money that i don thave O_O and get MAF adapter and K&N filter since i have a shot filter in there now

The Ultimate Racing Test pipe has the built in CEL fix! All you have to do is extend your O2 sensor wires. Real easy. I've been running one for about 6,000 miles without a P0420. Just make sure you install the pipe in the correct direction.

Definately take the cat off! A catless car smells much better than a catalyzed exhaust! I'm 100% serious. It's nothing like an old catless V-8.

i had a test pipe with stock dp and exhaust

The sound did not get louder and the power gain was negligible.

IMO, i would just get a catback only or go all out with full turbo back.

Getting just a test pipe will just make you paranoid when a cop is right behind you because of the smell of going catless

I think you should just continue to save your money up to get something worthwhile for a first mod. (And if you get an intake, you have to get tuned)
