I've seen threads stating those lightweight batteries don't do well in cold climates. Not sure where "Warrenton" is - TX, MO, VA.

give me the kit.

All you need to do is replace the thinner wire with the thicker 2gauge wire. Gold connectors. Good luck with it. Have the battery checked, it may be on its way out as the other guy suggested. Slow / labored starts are definite signs of a battery on it's way out.

May be the current battery is going bad little by little.

You can replace it with a new one, Red or Yellow top like someone mentioned.
Or, you can buy a small Battery Kit; However, someone here also mentioned they may not work so hot on the cold weather, I don't know.

For the price of either of those new batteries, you can buy a new upper Intercooler Pipe, . This is what I would do. And relocate the battery back to the front.
Seems you are not happy with it in the Trunk.

Why not keep the space up front free and the weight in the back? isn't the motor, transmission, transfercase enough weight up there?

yes. They will inspect your under your hood to check for battery...if it's in the trunk then you have to have an approved kill switch.
