Might have a resolution to my issue.

I have been noticing that my power drops off dramatically up top... I even drop to a whopping 10 psi.

I'm all stock (minus TBE) but I can hear my diverter valve go off... arn't I not supposed to hear that? could the hoses on my diverter valve be set up wrong? or could it be leaking??

is this new or has it always done this? i am not sure what you mean by "hearing the diverter valve". Are you hearing turbo surge? You could check to make sure your recirc valve is on correctly. Otherwise if you ever want to come to one of the local meets one of the guys can take a look at it.

sounds like a classic boost leak.

Huh? Of course boost drops when you let off. Yes, the blow off valve always makes noise when you release pressure. Whether you hear it or not (and how loud it is) depends on many factors.

Are you saying you have two separate issues: 1) You hear the BOV purge when you let off the gas while boosting, and 2) boost drops terribly when you're boosting at WOT? Are these happening at the same time, or are they 2 separate things? You have given no indication that you have 2 separate concerns, but this last post makes it seem like they are unrelated. Which is it? You need to be WAY more clear in your explanation if you want help...

well ok.. I'm having a slightly hard time explaining this haha. I just realized when I had my porsche it did the same thing and it turned out to be a massive boost leak so that's what I have now concluded. In the porsche, I would spike 31 psi and drop to about 29 then get to around 1 bar by red line. As soon as the leak was fixed the car stopped stalling when I come to a stop and stopped making the noises of a blow off valve when I didn't even have one. I am having the HARDEST time trying to figure out where the HELL my car is leaking from....It's killing me!

Just do a boost leak test. That is the only way you can tell where it is leaking from.

I've done so many leak test and I don't know why I can't find it... it's getting rather annoying seeing my car drop down to a whopping 10 psi haha maybe I'll post up in the Northeast section and see if someone can give me a hand.

So let me try to fully grasp what is going on......You hear the bov go off when you are on the gas? While boosting, your boost tapers to 10psi?

Double check your DV is not installed backwards. Happened to my car before and like you described, the DV would blow off or flutter everytime you let off the gas at partial throttle and on boost.

Wait, when did you do "so many leak tests"? You hadn't done any when you started this thread or half-way through the thread. Did you just do them in the last few days? YOu know how to do all that when you just got your Evo, and it's stock? I'm a little skeptical on that.

Please let us know EXACTLY how you performed the leak test - which tools, methods, and amount of psi. Also, you still need to explain what's happening, because we can't tell based off your previous explanations.

Do the 2 easiest things you can do by checking the BOV orientation and checking your intake snorkel clips.
