Thoughts on the XS Engineering 272 Cams

Anyone running the XS Engineering RaceMax 272 Cams?? I tried searching, but you can't search two letter words like "XS", so all I got was info on HKS and other brand cams.

Here's a link..

I would say no from my gut. There are a lot of proven cams you can get for that price or cheaper.

Read that several SocalEvo.net members with Evo8 and XS Eng. cams were happy. You could try searching on those boards. XS Eng. is also located in Southern California.

We have used these cams in a bunch of Evo's and have had great success. I prefer them over the HKS's to be honest. They work really well for the money.

He said he was buying a car with them installed......So the real answer I think is if the car made good numbers the cams are probably fine and you should go ahead and get the car if you want.

yea.. decided to go with a different evo anyway. cams havent been done yet, so maybe ill look into the HKS 272s. they seem to be the most popular for street use (with a tune)..

I made 360 hp/ 324 tq with a 20g and 93 pump on the mustang dyno if thats any consolation....these cams are very good with a higher lift than the hks and others.

I agree 110%. If anyone is thinking about going to a cam for a good street setup I would suggest these for sure. They are fairly cheap and they work great.

There are better cams you can get for cheaper prices then the hks once you get your evo. Don't pay for a name
