So they did a tranny swap and never bled the clutch..... what kind of tools do they have working on your car...

Lemon law it and get another. In the mean time make sure they document that they never fully bled the clutch after the tranny swap. Also, find another dealer to work with if you do decide to get another evo.

THose guys sound totaly worthless.

How can you say that? Have you driven with him and seen his technique?

Too many problems with too many Evos, and some damn good drivers. I doubt every problem out there is driver's error.

He's looking for advice and support on how to go about getting this problem taken care of. If all you want to do is accuse people of being poor drivers, then go find a board full of other flamers.

Air is very compressible, so if there was air in the clutch lines then the symptoms would be nothing happening (clutch not disengaging) when you push in the pedal or a spongy pedal feel. Air in the line should not make it so you can't press the pedal in at all.

I agree with you iodine, that's why I said the fork is off or something. It would hve to be jammed up. The slave cylinder still pushes out, even though the clutch is the pull type. Only way I can see air is if the pushrod for the slave retracted faster then the fork returned and fell out of the cup and is stuck in between the fork and the case. Which is highly unlikely.

More bad news, my dealership called and said that they want to replace the transmission once again. 3RD TRANNY IN A CAR WITH 4,439 MILES! I called MMUSA and talked to a case manager (who by the way was a complete ***) and everytime i mentioned lemon law and the fact that my car has been at dealerships for months he kept saying "Mitsubishi's responsibility is to repair your vehicle under waranty, thats all". I mentioned that somone else had problems similar to mine and had Mitsu replace their evo and he said "I find that very hard to believe." My only choice is to have a lawyer get involved.
Thanks everyone for their positive imput. I will keep it updated on how everything goes in case anyone else experiences problems similar to mine. Keep posting your thoughts so i can get some more feedback and make the right decisions!

I'm not saying its his fault ,not at all, maybe he's an out standing driver and indead he just happened to get a bad car, at the same time though how is this car takin care of.I've read a couple of the forums and alot sem to say they baby the car, come one now, really.why buy it if your going to baby it.personally, I think take it to another dealer see what they can do.But to say its all on the service, just to easy to pass the blame, and we don't know all the facts!

What tranny problems are you referring to ?

Decel noise ??

Problem shifting into X gear ??

What makes you think there will be a 04 model ? Have you heard any different ?

Mitsu USA contacted my dealership and my district manager and awared them that i filed a complaint about the continuous problems regarding my Evo. My district manager is looking onto the case and will decide next week if the will buy my vehicle back or replace it with another. Everything that is taking place will be decided between my district manager and Mitsu USA. They will contact my Service manager who will call me and let me know everything that is happening. In the mean time my dealership is going to work on the vehicle and try to fix it. This has been costing me too much time and money because i am paying monthly bills on my vehicle that i havent had for a tottal of 2 months plus. And it has also costed my dealership much of their time and money to have to always being dealing with my problem car, pulling the tranny out and back in numerous times so my service manager agrees that Lemon Law is ligitemat in my case. Also the dealership in Inndianapolis where i purchased my car is being very helpful an agrees that this situation calls for Lemon Law. Hopefully all goes well (and soon) so i can either have a brand new evo that hopefully operates right or i can have $30,000 + in my bank acount and wait till the 04 model is released because from what i understand the 04's will have these tranny problems resolved. Maybe i should just get an STI?..............Nahhhh

I have a April build and it is a LOT different then the 1st of the year builds and has always been like this with all the cars I have. I had a 1991 NSX and it had a snap ring problem. What about the 1993 Mazda Rx-7 the 1st year had MANY problems with it. I think the 1st few months of any new car is the 'testing' time. Hell look at Microsoft. lol I think if you get a April build or later you will be in better shape. My car has 1200 miles and 0 problems so far. We will see.

Werd, now I know why my dealer was in such hurry to sell me January built car in april... I just hope that mitsu will take care of those of us that bought 1st year (and first allocation) evo's... but I kinda dought it.. it's all about the number to them and having a few hundred cars with pissed off owners probably won't hurt them in the long run unless it turns into a big PR problem. In my case, they already made the only sale they ever will to me.. unless I buy another evo a few years down the road.

Sorry to hear about the continued problems man. I know when they did my tranny (at 600 miles) I ended up with several clunks and rattles as a result of the r&r. The more times they pull it out the more misc crap will get fubared.... definetly time for a new one and it's great that they are on your side for the most part.

You guys should really consider a Class Action Suite. This your hard earned money that you guys are dealing with. Then you can get your full refund and then some for your troubles, and buy an STi.
