Belt Tensioners needed with cam install?

I have an 05 with 14,000 miles purchased used. I am going to install GSC-1's. I have seen some info suggesting the stock belt tensioners will not " snap back" to maintain proper tension with a new cams-belt install. Is this accurate or just a nice way to package some parts to increase the sales. Thanks.

If your EVO only has 14k on the clock a new tb tensioner will not be needed. Its kind of how some vendors will package together cams with valve springs and retainers when they are not really needed either.

I have never heard such a thing. I would reccommend factory service intervals for the hydraulic tensioner along with tensioner and idler pullies regardless of aftermarket cams or not (they don't make a difference on the tensioners). However, since you have such relatively low mileage, I would not say you would have to do it at this point in time, IMO.
