So my evo makes this noise when it warms up and it sounds like its coming from the power steering pump.

sounds like some type of bearing noise, possibly the water pump could be going out as well, hard to diagnose from hearing it on video, would be easier to tell in person but to me it sounds like a bearing noise of some sort.

Mines was something similar to that. My problem was the ac compressor. The pully wasn't disengaging or watever. I just changed the belt to one that eliminate the a/c...i'll fix it later.

Definitely sounds like a bearing. I would take the belt off and spin them by hand to see which one makes the noise or feels rough.

deffinately sounds like one of your pulleys are messed up, like the others said, thake your belts off and spin the pulleys and see which one doesnt want to spin.

I have the same noise. But mine comes and goes. Its weird. If I run the car hard the noise will come. But the next day the noise will go away.

Just some food for thought.

I had the same high pitched squeeling noise even more sharp after I had a new water pump put in under warranty in the Fall 07' due to some weeping that was noticed. Anyway with the onslaught of cold weather starting back in December I was getting a similar but more high pitched whining noise coming from that side, the dealership initially diagnosed the issue as a Idle'r pulley and oil pump pulley and both were replaced along with a new Sepentine belt but the noise persisted.

After further diagnosis and careful listening the noise is coming from behind the water pump which meant a bad bearing. Dealership is ordering a new water pump under warranty.
