Is it necessary?...

Is it always necessary to increase the bore in a stroker engine? Every kit i have seen on the net has an increased bore, by at least .5 mm. I don't want to have to modify the block itself.

It's not necessary to bore the block, but it is necessary to clearance the block so the connecting rod doesn't hit the bottom of the cylinders.
