Help, My EVO IX MR boosting w/ hestitation
hi, guys, need some help.. i'm new to EVO, & my IX MR is running with hestitaion when boosts, it's not turbo lag, not sure what it is, some guy told me my clutch is slipping, but my mechanic friend said it's not the clutch, something to do with my HKS BOV (it sounds normal to me) or turbo's not spooling right, may need tuning.. i only got the HKS BOV & Greddy catback, engine is untouched.
some1 pls points me to the right direction.

Oh boy...I'm pretty sure this thread is going to blow up with people telling you to sell the HKS bov. The stock one is fine up to around 25 psi...why would you change it? Is it the SSQV?...Most likely that is your problem. Put the stocker back on and see if the prob. goes away.
^^ yea i was gonna say the same thing that psquared said the hks bov might be having problems holding ur boost so it might be leaking qausing boost problems so u should start with putting the stock back in and see how it goes

I would encourage you to pick up a stock, IX MR diverter. Unless you plan on boosting past 25 psi in the near future....aftermarket...someone else is gonna have to help you with that one.
No, that's just what It's called on their website. You don't want an VIII one though. It's plastic. The IX's are metal. A bov vents air to atmosphere, a diverter re-circulates it back into the intake track. VTA can cause stalling issues at idle and all kinds of good stuff.
No prob. I was gonna tell you to check out AMS's website. Go to the page with their Upper Intercooler pipe. There is a 2 paragraph explanation of how a BOV that VTA affect the MAF readings. Glad to help...get her running right, and enjoy!
