+1 People tend to say things like "100% better" etc. but how? The times when I think in percentages like that are:
BC cams $330/set
GSC cams $475/set or more
Therefore, GSC are 43% more expensive.
Are GSC going to give you 43% more gains under the same conditions? Probably not 43% peak What about average accross the powerband. Still probably not. Of course even the gains are subjective, and there is more than just peak gains to consider.

With this in mind, can you please elaborate? Seems almost impossible without graphs to compare.

Kinda feel like a dumbas* but the HKS 272 -vs- GCS S1 is actually a "featured article" on the homepage. Doesn't give hard numbers but it gives a general feeling for the cams. So i guess i kinda answered my own question huh?

I still would love to know what the difference is between GSC S1 vs Brian Crower's 272s. No one seems to know if they idle well, make power, etc.

I have read testimonials on them saying that they do both, and people have gotten good #s, but I still haven't seen a DYNO GRAPH on them.

I have tried HKS 272 on the V/// and the S1s for the IX.

I was seeing a better top end on the 272s.... however... midrange is a lot better on my S1s. At least on the stock turbo and green.

Sorry, I do not have a dyno sheet for the 272s but, I did post some results on the GSC forum on the S1s!

That is what people generally say about HKS 272's; that they tend to help out the upper powerband the most, and GSC S1s are particularly coveted for their broader midrange gains. Your comparison makes me wonder what part MIVEC may have played in the difference.

personally, i only want to buy parts once, Im planning on running a HTA GT35 later on this year so im buying parts that will complement a GT35. Set a goal for what you want to run and then buy parts that will accomplish it.

i got the HKS 272's on my 8 and i like it very much. it pulls hard in top end. my low end is not bad either but with my new O2 housing and 10.5 hotside and methanol i should be just fine. hoping somewhere around 350 HP.

But yeah the HKS272's aint bad either. i was planning on gettin the gsc s1 at first but mu tuner said go with the hks and u will be happy. so i did. and i like it so far
