fuel filter??

how long do they last, where can i get one, and where is it located?

im getting a P0171 for awhile now and i have checked ever thing except this and the 02. while the 02 sensor is $240, this will be my last thing to buy. the tune has been checked twice, all vacume hoses r fine, maf and filter are clean. i have 36,000 miles on the car and this is the only thing i can think of.

There isnt one. There is only a strainer on the fuel pump IIRC.

hum? maybe this is somehow clogged?

i seri dont know wtf to do any more. ever since my alky tune, i have been pulling this code. only thing else i can think of is the injectors at idle arnt pushing enough fuel or something. its getting to the point i dont even want to drive it anymore.

Meth is awsome but there are so many drawbacks when using it.

This may sound dumb, but maybe a clogged injector?

You can get the fuel filter off Ebay for around 20 bucks. All you have to do is ask the seller of fuel pumps to buy only the install kit. I doubt it's your fuel filter because the car won't run if it's clogged.

DB, you may want to make this into a new thread but I'll post it up here for you.

I'm deadbeat's good buddy, and we've been trying to diagnose this problem for a while now.

Facts: The car continuously pops a P0171.

Idle A/F hovers around 15, its fine.

Cruising A/F is perfect, unless of course he modulates the throttle just between cruising and closed throttle, the car hangs on around 17-18 A/F for a few seconds before cutting the injectors. Could be the issue?

WOT is not a problem, very well tuned.

All in all the car shouldn't be popping off this code constantly, but does. We can't decide if the meth has anything to do with it or not. Perhaps its fouling the O2? It IS honestly a pain in the *** for him to clear all the time. Turning the code OFF in the tune would be the best solution, but apparently he'd need to purchase a flasher AND get a new tune under that software from Al. $1000 bucks to turn a code of is insane.

So if anyone has any insight, or has experienced this before please post up.
