My turbo is making a fluttering sound at WOT when I hit 26psi. Anyone know what it could be? Compressor surge? Leaking BOV? I have a test pipe and cat back, but I'm on the stock downpipe. I also have a buschur intake. Other than that and a tune, I'm stock. Thanks for any help.

 

26 psi on a stock turbo??? i thought around 23 psi should be the max. i am set for 21.5.

 

have you done a boost leak test???but i also thought no more than 23 on stock turbo with no other cooling mods

 

I hit 26psi and then taper to 24psi. There are no boost leaks than I can find.

 

If there are no boost leaks, the sound might be your turbo starting to take a ****. 26psi daily on 93 is pretty hard on a turbo.

 

does it sound like "chuff chuff chuff" ? and does it hapen in higher gears at lower rpm ? if so i would say compressor surge .

 

at 26psi your turbo is not running efficient putting out extra hot air, that and the fact that your still using the stock downpipe, what your experiencing is back pressure and a really hot turbo trying to breathe.
get a 3" downpipe and turn down the boost to 24 and you be ok.
