i have an evo 8....with the old plastic DV, i never had this issue of fluttering when letting of gas at any RPM, it would just make the norm pssst sound....i do have a cone filter as well.

i recently got today a IX DV, which i installed, same ol same ol, i know for a fact nothing is wrong with any connections/boost leak so on and so forth, the only thing to change was swapping the DV, because the plastic one would look when i do boost test and wouldn't hold 1psi.

witht he new one, i notice it seems to build and hold boost alot better than the 8's dv

however very loud fluttering/surges when letting off gas.

i did search and posted in a few threads, seems like it dont happen with everyone, some say the DV holds boost to well, some it dont happen to at all...so i just need to know if this should be happening or it shouldn't.

currently the bronze part with nipple is turned up just like the 8 is...is this incorrect?

 

now that i think about it....maybe that was incorrect....i thnk it the top was east to west...damn do i feel dumb. thx bro
