Screw it, I'll be going full stand alone, and with that give a rat's *** about the stock AF settings hehe. RMR has a CF intake duct that looks like it'll be pretty functional as far as bringing cooler air into an open element intake. Should probably make a little HP just from the added pressure let alone cooler air.

I had the RMR cone filter on and all it had was a cool sound and no performance gain, I actually lost power and my evo did not pull at all until I put the stock airbox on.

We have an open element funnel ram style filter for the car. The filter picked up a minimum of 6 hp in every dyno test we ran on it. This is without the aid of cold air being blown to it from a fan.

The filter is only $80. We have found no remapping or tuning to be needed when just adding our filter kit. When you add our MAS inlet pipe then some re-tuning is needed. We have the filter and SS polished mandrel bent MAS pipe and filter for $275. This includes the couplings and clamps. The pipe alone is $225.

David, 6 hp sounds good for 80 bucks. What did the intake do to the torque output and did the hp and torque curves change, for example, even out, or gain more low end power? If you could post a dyno graph, that would be nice.
Thanks

APR in australia has the best intake I have seen so far. I brings in cold air from and open element and smooths the flow befor it enters the MAF. Very nice piece!

Here is the response I got from APS about their CAI:

"We have not released the cold air intake for the US EVO. Parts should be
released in October. We will put up a list of EVO Dealers within the next 2
weeks, so please check the website. Price for the cold air intake will be
approx. $240 USD.

Thanks,
Peter."

When will WORKS have their intake ready? Also if I already have the works ECU flash does it need reflashed when I get the intake from them? If so is it a free reflash? Gosh I hope so because I plan to later get a full exhaust from them etc and I don't want to be charged for a reflash every time I upgrade.

I have heard so many people complain about the RMR intake power loss, but have yet to hear a complaint about the buschur's...the buschur racing cone is smaller and maybe that helps it work more efficiently somehow..
