Im sure DB will be testing before the product is accually released, unless of course the words were right out of Roberts mouth.

My 3065 is already gone anyways. Hope the new owner will consider this an option, i'd like to see what she really could have done with this.

yea, I have been considering the HTA35r for some time now...but this might prove a cost friendly atlernative to that route...

The spool alone is enticing.

If you'd prefer the 3065 to the others, we now have Precision's version (same wheel sizing) of the FP turbo available in any of our kits. We can also get the complete turbo from FP and have them modify to your preference. Let me know if I can do any legwork for you on that

Do you think that a Twin scroll manifold/version of either the HTA3065 or HTA35r will have problems with surging? I am planning on doing either a twin scroll 3071 or 3076r, but if I can do either of the two HTA ones with no surging, then that would definitely be the way to go, as the spool would be very close.

A typical 3076r gets 20ish lbs of boost at around 4300. While the HTA35r get it arond 48-4900. A twin scroll 3076r gets 20ish lbs at 37-3800, so if I can do the HTA35r at around 43-4400 or the hta3065r even slightly lower then, I might have a slight tear come to my eye...

That's an impossibility. The tubular manifold does not fit the 3065 flange.

Correct only for the FP turbine housing. For the tubular mani's they use a different turbine housing.

Yes but it can fit the GT3082r which is the same thing FP is the only one that makes 3065 because it has the DSM flange.

Correct me if im wrong but didn't Martin compare twin scroll vs open scroll and find that the twin only spooled like 100 rpm faster and lost top end power? After i saw that thread i threw the whole twin scroll thing out the window b/c it just sounded like dumping money down the drain.

I ordered a HTA 35r. its obvious that you can't go wrong with that turbo. If you really want you turbo to spool faster you should start with the building the head

The 3065 is a Forced Performance turbo. Unless it's a FP 3065, it should be identified by it's actual manufacturer and name. That's the point -- a 3065 uses a different flange than is used by the tubular header kit, and the turbo that is included in the tubular header kit is NOT a FP3065. Nor is it identical -- for example, the Precision compressor cover that is shown on some other photos of the turbo included in the "BR3065" header kits is not the anti-surge cover that comes on the Forced Performance 3065, so to call it a 3065 is simply incorrect.

That's an important fact if, for example, you ever need to have it warrantied by the company who supplied it.

I already posted that up lol

FP3065 = GT3082r or GT3040r All same turbo's except the FP use's dsm flange

Well i knew that the 3082 was a 3065 with a different flange, i was just stating that the FP flange will not work with a regular tubular header.
