EVO VIII Head...on a IX

hello guys..

I am contemplating whether or not I should do this…after seeing what david buschur has done with his BF272 cams on his ported head..i am now considering to get rid of the Mivec in order to run those cams…
So the real question is: will this evo 8 head bolt right up to the evo IX shortblock, or are there other modifications that need to be done?

Thanks in advance

Seen it done before. You'll need to make ECU changes because of the MIVEC system. Really, it only affects the intake side, but the head should bolt right up. I don't see why not.

same engine the magic of mivec is in the cylinder head and ecu. how ever the evo9 ecu harnes will not plug into the evo 8 ecu as the 8 ecu has 4 plugs and the 9 only has 3. Also the igniton system is different on the 9s. But if you get the evo8 wire harness and evo8 ecu along with your cylinder head its very poissble.
