Line Lock for an Evo?
I personally dont have a carbon clutch in my car. have seen to many wear to quick on DD, but thats another story.
I have been told by a few people who are fairly big in the drag racing scene for evos that you need to slip the carbon clutch before launching. not sure what side is more accurate since I dont have one on my car.
For what its worth the main person that I have heard this from many times is probably in the top 3 evo drivers in the country.

They slip the clutch to minimize drivetrane shock and not to warm up the clutch.
All kinds of clutches need to be slipped at launch in the Evo...but none of them should be wormed up or heated. That is clutch damage.

I will get more info on this tonight.
didn't want you to think I was just saying BS on this matter.
there is a thread with talk of this in the ams fourms they say what they use and how well it works might be a good place to start since they have one of the fastest evos around and also they are a few ill say exotic clutches that grip better after they are warm just like tires and some brake pads i dont think this is the case for drag cars but prolly more less time attack cars and such
intresting. my car will creep on occasion on 2 step. kinda throws u out of wack to tap the brake or pull the e brake for a sec to settle the car while still working the 2 step. trying not to hold it for too long.
I have the Carbonetics twin disc carbon, and so far no problems what so ever, As of now I can be on the 2 step all day and the car will not move but when that occurs it would be due to the warpage of some parts in my clutch. Here's a video of my car on the 2 step.
I know a bunch of people with AWD's that use the ebrake to preload the drivetrain at the track.
OP - According to my friends its like second nature once you get used to it and it really does save the drivetrain. I have one friend who does this and drives his car as if he's trying to break something and its held up well over the years.

Take a good look at the video I posted, notice how smoothly the tires begin to roll before they actually start spinning. Thats what saves the drivetrain, I would say my drivetrain suffers more when I shift gears than when I actually launch.
Why don't you pull the ebrake during shifts then?
...on second thought....
At first I was like, "ooh, I'm gonna be really witty and clever" then I re-read your post and was like, "I bet he doesn't even use the ebrake" and then I was like, "eh, screw it, it'll still sound kinda witty and clever and everyone will laugh and have a good time"
