boost issue
boost issue
check this out i have intake turbo back greddybov recirculated and electronic boost controler....the evo feels to pull harder at 17 pounds than 20......whats up with this......is it because of the timing being retarded will a s-afc fix this......the boost guage reads that it holds the boost through out the rpm band till red line.......its kinda hot here in miami but w/e......i have the s-afc2 just waiting for the fields harness.....what do u guys think there is ...theres no vaccum leaks no exhaust leaks, no boost leaks, and no intercooler leaks or in the custom up pipe....my idea is the ecu retarding the timing...can this be the case
I've noticed the car feels like it has more torue at part boost and part throttle (say half throttle and 8-10 psi) than it does at wot. I attributed it to having more turbulance with the butterfly part open thus giving a better burn. Probably a combination of excessively rich mixture, ambiant temps, timing etc at wot.

? Assuming the problem is something like you mentioned.
Your car is KNOCKING!!!
Therefore it's pulling timing....
Therefore it feels, and is slow....
Also, it's damaging your motor...
Also, if the car feels better part throttle - the above is happening... WOT - fuel is distributed by a "map" in the ECU, part throttle - it is somewhat based on this map, but also by the o2 sensor. If o2 is off, the ECU adjusts under part throttle... If its off under WOT, then its off, there is no changing it unless you have an AFC...
Heat will also have something to do with this, obviously...
