Oil Doc....
Please answer the following:

Does Amsoil submit any of its products for ACEA certification?

Does Amsoil offer more than one product line (XL) that is tested and certified by API that are not designed for the quick change oil industry?

How to you respond to this statement?

"Amsoil is exceptionally polarizing with the company being widely criticized for its astroturfing and peer-based marketing in which customers are induced to become dealers. This leads to accusations of shilling in which Amsoil testimonials at various internet forums are given by dealers with a financial stake in the product."

Amsoil is a multi layer marketing (MLM) company.

TIA.

Most of AMSOIL's Product line is tested to Meet API Specs by Independent Labs and the additive Mfg's that we buy from have their products API Certified. There are several reasons for not being API Cert. AMSOIL can change it's formulation at a moments notice if something new comes along, say an additive, which just happened in recent history, and not have to wait for certification or pay for the re-certification. Also, proprietary ingredients do not have to be disclosed.

MANY Oil Companies, including Mobil, have oils on the market that are NOT API Certified.

"Amsoil is exceptionally polarizing with the company being widely criticized for its astroturfing and peer-based marketing in which customers are induced to become dealers. This leads to accusations of shilling in which Amsoil testimonials at various internet forums are given by dealers with a financial stake in the product." AMSOIL has several Marketing Plans. There are always people within All Companies that try to induce/force things onto people, AMSOIL is no exception and cannot be blamed for those people as that is not what they are taught. It is the person, not the company. I, For one, do not "force" or "induce" anything on anyone, and You can ask any customer of mine, on EVOm, or anywhere else for that matter, if I have Ever tried to push them to be a Dealer, the option is there, and if they ask, I will talk to them about it. I may offer them a Complimentary Preferred Customer Membership with their order, other Dealers May try to sell it to them, that is their right to do so, and my right to pull $10.00 out of my pocket to give a 6 month PC to them.

As I said, there is always someone that will corrupt something unfortunately, regardless of the company or the product.

As for me ? I Love what I do, it is my Full Time Employment, I have fun doing it.

Amsoil is a multi layer marketing (MLM) company.

Whoever wrote that statement , obviously has no idea... The Correct terminology is Multi Level Marketing... Which, by the way, Donald Trump, when asked on Larry King, "If you had to start all over again today, how would you do it ?" Replied something to the effect of, "I'd go into Multi Level Marketing"

I've been with AMSOIL over 24 years now. Neither the Products or the Company, have ever let me down

The problem with people that don't like MLM's ? They Don't Understand Them !

There are Good MLM's and some I wouldn't come close enough to be able to throw a rock at.

TIA.
Hope that answered your questions sufficiently,

Doc

As for AMSOIL, after over 24 Years of selling it, neither the Product, or the Company, has ever let me down. When AMSOIL does tests or has them performed, they name, Names and even show any shortcomings.

The other companies use Technicalities in the Law using words such as Full or Fully Synthetic. I am always more than skeptical when I see those words.

I will stay with a Proven Product.

Not saying anything is wrong with "Q", just saying I want to see ASTM Tests.

Dsport just did an article with an evo X that gained something like seven hp over mobile one with Royal Purple. I thought that was pretty good.

The questions were asked in all sincerity and not with a veiled intent of anything other.

Thanks for the quick response.

About the only thing I would use Royal Purple for is to burn in a Waste Oil Heater.

I know if you look at the grade level of fully synthetic oils, mobile 1 dropped from a level 4 to a 3. AMSOIL, MOTUL, and only a couple others are still considered a level 4.

A GF3, right. I noticed that too. I used it anyhow though.

One question is this. The automaker of my car is telling me to use Mobil 1 in the engine. Why would I want to change? (I trust a multibillion $ corp's research data. There has to be some reason for it.)

^ its a name. if they put mobile-1 dog pi$$ on the bottle do you think mitsu would slap stickers on the oil caps? I use Mobile-1 myself, but you know at some point you are paying for a name.

Thegame, its called mitsu getting paid to put mobil 1's label on the oil cap. They do this so that they can make people such as yourself think that exact statement you just made to be true.
