aftermarket tranny for evo

Does anyone know a company making tranny for the EVO(gears, clutch, flywheel etc)? Obviously the factory unid needs some great improvement.

Our 5 Speed is a beefed up version of the JDM version and is considered near bulletproof up to 500+ AWHP. The clutch however is a debatable issue...

Ralliart Japan and I think OS giken but the prices are WAY too much. If I remember right, the Ralliart was going close to 14~15k after coversion from yen. It's race ready tranny gearing (no six) dog-type.

Check out Exedy for flywheel/clutch upgrade, well worth the cost (approx: $1400)

The US tranny is not a beefed up version of the Japanese..it is the same as the Evo VII 9though the US car does use a totally unique transfer case).

There are gears out there for the car, but what all are you looking to do? Rally, drag, street?

Im thinking Team Rip (TRE) will be doing some modifications to our tranny. They have been known to make bullet proof DSM trannies throughout the years. Anyone in the DSM crowd has heard of them. Being though that everyone is coming from a freaking Honda, half of you may not know about them.

No, i dont race the EVO 24/7. People are having tranny problems just daily driving, much more racing them.

I just want a bullet-proof tranny. Z1 performance what company makes gears for the EVO?

my tranny is butter smooth when im going ***** out (which is very very frequently. I redline my car sometimes 10 times daily, usually overreving in first too) It never grinds in any gear at any time around any rpm even upwards of 7k. The only trouble I have is when im just puttin around town, it feels notchy. Especially in second. I think the tranny was designed to operate under a load and definately not under 2k rpm.

In short, there are a few dogboxes and a Ralliart Group N setup offered - both are very expensive though (over $5k)

Why stop at just a dogbox? go for a sequential dog box haha...

Anyway check out the tomei website, http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/ You guys will enjoy this website. they use australian holinger dog boxes. Holinger are top notch. You dont realli get much better than them.
