Shifter Question (seems stiff)
2005 VIII GSR. 25k miles. 2 pc. Shifter Bushing kit installed a couple years ago. Same Tranny Oil as stock. (will be changed in 4k miles or so per maintenance schedule)
I've noticed that the shifter isn't as free as it used to be. Like when sitting between 3&4 if I move it over to between 1&2 and let go, it used to spring back to neutral. Today it seemed to be stuck between 1&2, it only took a tiny bit of force to slide it back to neutral. Shifting in and out of gears is no problem, it just seems to take more force to move the shifter around now.
Has anyone else seen this? Anything I need to worry about?
I've heard of some people having a similar problem right away after installing the shifter bushing kit, but mine has been perfect for over two years. Today was also a bit colder than it has been for the last week or so but it stayed like this even after the engine was to temperature.
Thanks

Followup: Today it seems fine. It's slightly warmer than yesterday, so maybe that was the cause...Still worries me because its been 30F colder than this and it didn't do this...

A friends Evo was sorta having the same problem but his was real stiff getting into Reverse. He had to use two hands. Turns out the solid bushing he had in there appeared to be ceasing. As a temporary fix he sprayed it down with PB Blaster and it seems to of got rid of the stiffness (for now). When its warmer outside and time permits we'll pull the bushing out and either sand it down and make it work without PB blasting it or put a new bushing in place.
